We all know exercise is good for our physical fitness. What about mental fitness? Most of us know from personal experience that we may feel better emotionally if we move our bodies around more. I remind myself of that if I don’t want to go to the gym… I’m always happier when I’m done, and not just because I’m done. My body and my brain like it.
The brain forms more new neurons when we exercise. These new neurons can be used for change. If you want to improve your golf or SAT score, be more relaxed or more focused, the training your brain gets from NeurOptimal® Dynamical Neurofeedback® takes advantage of those new neurons in whatever ways are right for you.
But what if you just don’t like to exercise? Find something you do like that moves your body around.
As well as being good for your brain, as we all know there are cardiovascular and other health benefits from exercising. Most people with a little thought and experimenting can find a type of exercise that they don’t have to force or bribe themselves to do. I think that part is important — that the type of exercise you get is a fit for you and, if at all possible, fun.
