  • Three Ways to Keep Your Brain Healthy

bigstock_Human_Brain_2739867Dr. John H. Byrne is chairman of the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical School. In an interview, he had three recommendations for promoting brain health. All of these are highly complementary with neurofeedback. They may also improve memory.

    • Exercise – more and more studies show that exercise promotes the growth of new nerve cells in the brain.
    • Diet – there are foods that are good for the brain.
    • Brain Activity – learning new things and being social increase neuroplasticity – the brain’s ability to change itself.

I’ve just summarized these briefly. You can read more details in the full article on how to keep your brain healthy.

The healthier the brain the more benefit it will get from neurofeedback. It’s also interesting that most people who come for neurofeedback find after they’ve been training for awhile that it’s easier to do what’s good for them – and not do what isn’t!
