The images used on this blog and on the New York Neurofeedback website are fractals.

Benoît Mandelbrot, who died in 2010, changed how we can view ourselves and our world by introducing us to fractal geometry. It mirrored the complex real world in ways that the pristine and simpler shapes of classical geometry that we learned as school children did not.

This is the New York Times tribute to him, written by James Gleick. It was published in this Sunday’s annual Magazine issue, The Lives They Lived.
