If you have ever arrived at a destination with very little memory of how you – at the wheel of a two-ton automobile – got there, you might want to read this terrific article, Awake at the Wheel, by meditation teacher Michele McDonald.

Probably anyone who has ever gotten behind the wheel has had the experience of not remembering whole chunks of the drive. I know I have. Today we have even more distractions available then when I first got my learner’s permit at 15 and a half.

In addition to increasing your safety and that of tbigstock_Woman_driving_a_car_14340914hose around you, driving is another opportunity to practice being in the present moment.

If that’s hard for you, consider NeurOptimal® neurofeedback. Many of my clients have “being able to sit still to meditate” as one of their goals. If you have questions, please post them here or email me.
