Barbara Mendez NutritionBarbara Mendez is my go to nutritionist for myself and my clients. She recently posted a video titled, 9 Tips for Optimal Brain Function. I highly recommend you watch it.

Are you thinking you’ll have to make changes you don’t want to? That’s likely not at all the case. Barbara’s very first tip is to stay properly hydrated. See, not so bad! 60% of an adult body is water, and for the brain and heart, that goes up to 73%. Those numbers make it clear why hydration is so important. In the video, Barbara gives some easy tips on staying hydrated.

For some foods you might think are not easy to give up, Barbara offers delicious substitutions. Some of my favorite foods are on this list, and they are all beneficial for the brain (and what benefits the brain benefits the body).

The video is chock full of information. Did you know, for example, that studies have shown that pregnant Nutrition and the brainwomen who have enough Omega 3 essential fatty acids in their diet have higher IQ children and less postpartum depression?

If I were going to recommend just a few things for you to do for brain health, they would be nutrition (including hydration), exercise, and, of course, neurofeedback.

By the way, Barbara is a walking advertisement for her work, as you can see from her photo. Her glowing good health is even more apparent in person.
