  • What is NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback?

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback Your brain is the most complex system on Earth. It possesses an amazing ability to organize itself. Neurofeedback works with the electrical activity of that system.

    What is neurofeedback?

Via pauses in a sound stream that are precisely timed to register state shifts in the brain, NeurOptimal® Dynamical Neurofeedback® gives your brain information on what it’s doing which your brain then uses to optimize itself — real time feedback that it doesn’t get anywhere else in life.

Your Central Nervous System (brain and spinal cord) is masterful at taking in information and using it to organize itself to become more efficient, flexible and resilient. You can think of your NeurOptimal® neurofeedback sessions as tuning up your brain to run at its best.

How this will manifest in your life is up to your unique CNS. It will use the information it’s getting in the way that is right for you. That’s what makes NeurOptimal® so side effect free. Traditional (linear) neurofeedback is protocol-based and encourages the brain to move in specific, pre-determined directions. It can be very helpful, but it’s also side effect prone. Reports of side effects are typically used to tailor the protocols.

Neurofeedback is not new. It has been around for more than half a century, gradually becoming more and more comprehensive and sophisticated. If you want to perform at your best or improve your sleep or concentration; or if there is something you want more of, perhaps better stress management, focus, or happier moodNeurOptimal® Neurofeedback, it is likely that NeurOptimal® can help you. If you don’t see what you want mentioned in this post, please ask me.

Thank you for your clarification of the types of neurofeedback – very helpful.

I love how clearly you’re able to explain the process. After years of using NeurOptimal, I’ve noticed gentle shifts that have had a huge impact on my CNS and my life. For example, just this morning, I realized I used to be startled by loud noises. Now, I notice them and am sometimes annoyed by them but I’m not startled anymore. That kind of thing happens all the time. I notice that I now process experiences that used to be difficult, more positively.
